I've heard a lot of those English jokes in China but I've never seen one of them myself...I've got one today....
I bought a pair of stainless steel chopsticks in an oriental supermarket this afternoon coz I was making roasted chicken rolls for dinner, and I need some metal skewers (toothpicks might burn in the oven!) to secure the chicken pieces together, but I can't find any...so I used chopsticks as replacement instead...
There are some instructions at the back of the package...in both English and Chinese, the English version looks something like this...

"Usage Elucidation: The product packing front through hest super a cleaning. In barof conveyance, sale process contaminative, make please use the liquefied detergent cleaning with the front.
This product can put into the heat or super awave of Disinfect the cupboard.
This product is long after using, if have the dirty mark please use Toothpaste or go to the dirty liquid cleaning. Doing not use sand soap or steel wire ball violences washes. To keep clean."
I bet you have completely no idea what it was trying to say. This is the Chinese version:
"使用說明: 本產品包裝前經高溫超聲波清洗﹐為預防運輸﹐銷售過程污染﹐使用前請用洗潔精清洗。
本產品可以放入高溫或超聲波的消毒碗櫃。
本產品久用後﹐如有污垢﹐請用牙膏或去污液清洗﹐不要使用沙鹼或鋼絲球暴力洗﹐以保持光潔面。"
The product packing front = 本產品包裝前
heat or super awave of Disinfect the cupboard = 高溫或超聲波的消毒碗櫃
This product is long after using = 本產品久用後
go to the dirty liquid cleaning = 去污液清洗
Doing not use sand soap or steel wire ball violences washes = 不要使用沙鹼或鋼絲球暴力洗
lmao...
I know I looked like an idiot laughing to a pair of chopsticks when I was in the supermarket this afternoon..now you know why...
Btw, this is the chicken rolls I have made for dinner...I don't really have a recipe coz I got the idea from the TVB show "Beautiful Cooking" and came up with my own recipe...putting everything from my kitchen shelf into it...turns out to be quite nice!! hahaa...
Roasted honey chicken rolls (with ham, mushrooms and asparagus) + spaghetti in rosemary honey cream sauce
I've made meatball pasta upon request the other night..I got the recipe from Jamie Oliver...it looks simple but in fact it took me quite a while to prepare..but meatballs are nice...put heaps of herbs in it...I love herbs...
